Archaeological Museum of Aigion

The Archaeological Museum of Aigion is housed in the listed neoclassical building of the old Municipal Market, a project by Ernst Ziller, in the heart of the town. It first opened in 1994. Its permanent exhibition hosts artefacts from Aigion and the province of Aigialia, aided by visual interpretative means and dated from the neolithic to the roman times. In the new wing of the exhibition, which was inaugurated in 2024, are presented antiquities retrieved from systematic excavations of the area’s ancient cities and sites that were investigated during the last twenty years, in the context of large scale works.
